What We Are All About
|
Bulldog B.A.S.H. (Boscobel After School Happiness) is a free after-school program that is a collaborative effort between the Boscobel Area Schools and BMZ Church, funded by the 21st Century CLC After-School grant through the WI Department of Public Instruction, allowing students in grades K-6 to experience academic and character support. Regular activities include homework help with additional assistance and support to gain understanding of school assignments. Daily interactive lessons and projects that emphasize literacy and mathematics. Followed by enrichment clubs focusing on team and individual skill-building, service-learning community projects and activities.
Bulldog B.A.S.H. began in 2015 as an after-school educational support program for Boscobel's elementary school programs. The first year Bulldog B.A.S.H. had about 80 children signed up for the program with about 60 children attending regularly. Our enrollment has continued to climb as we serve more children and families with every new school year. Statistics show that children in community learning centers (after-school programs) typically show overall improvement in their school grades and state test scores. This is especially true in rural communities where there are many challenges for families to overcome. It is for this reason that the Bulldog B.A.S.H. Program is such an asset to our community.
